Sometimes you have a day

Ah, made a mistake at the beginning. Go back, find there is indeed a stitch missing and add one. Knit the entire row. Notice that you have dropped a stitch were the mistake was. Go back, drop the extra stitch and find the previously dropped stitch. Reknit the row. Purl back. Get some coffee and . . . there is not supposed to be a hole there. Dammit!

New toy

Of course you need to protect a new toy. So I started the next project, a laptop case. Since the laptop isn’t that big it shouldn’t take that long to finish. Those hexagons work addictive as well. They’re pretty quickly done and then the fun of putting it together starts. I’m going to try to stick with this project until it’s finished. So what if I’m behind on the other projects, it’s my own planning after all.

Let´s chat

It´s been awhile since I´ve posted. I usually have enough to tell, but for some reason I seem to get shy when I sit down to type. Maybe I should keep a notebook around to jot down notes.

Around Christmas I took out the kidsilk haze from Rowan that I bought at the Afstap in Amsterdam a few months back. There is a beautiful shawl in the book Victorian Lace Today that I wanted to make. It´s a simple pattern in the middle, easy to remember with a beautiful wide border. Even though the rows are shorter and the pattern just as easy to remember it seems to take forever to go around the middle.
As soon as I sat down with my yarn, needles and pattern I was lost. For two whole weeks I didn´t touch any other project. This yarn is amazing.

On Ravelry I joined the 100 bolls in 2009 challenge. That means I have to finish 100 balls of yarn this year. To help me reach that goal I also joined a crochet along. Every month a 12 inch square. Yes, just like the blanket I´m already working on. I found 20 balls of yarn for the crocheted blanket. One square is 1 ball, so I´ll finish at least 12 this year.

Of course I´ve been doing more than just that. I´ve been working really hard to finish the attic. It´s really starting to come together, I´m pretty proud of it. It´s not quite finished, pictures will follow.
